Community Work

Queer Community Day
Sloast is organizing a community event at their studio space which will take place on June 8th, 2019. There will be vendors, healing activities, workshops and an open mic. The goal of the event is to promote LGBTQIA+ community members and give them a platform to share their work with a larger audience, as the event will be taking place on St. Laurent during Montreal's famous Mural Festival.

Wheatpaste Workshop at Centre Greene Art Hive
Sloast lead a wheatpaste workshop for all ages at Centre Greene's Art Hive. Participants had free creative control over their own designs and everyone pasted their art up on the streets, in true wheatpaste fashion.

Art and Mindfulness Workshops
Since December 2017, Sloast has been leading Art and Mindfulness workshops. The first took place at Ecole (McGill's Educational Community Living Environment) during the organization's Self-Care week. Others included a yoga + paint collaboration with yoga instructor Will Charbonneau, a drop-in workshop at the LGBT+ youth organization Project 10, and a collaborative art therapy table at Queer Healing Day.
